Job Description RCL FOODS is seeking a Risk Officer to join our Vector Division. The role will be based in Linbro Park and report to the Warehouse Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent who will develop, implement and manage CCTV control rooms as an effective management tool to reduce risk and loss to the business. They will be responsible for the technical control and management of a live security control room, supervision of maintenance of security equipment, and reporting and reaction on incident by gathering information and evidence. The Risk Controller will also be entrusted to identify and highlight other risk on site, test and enhance processes to meet compliance. Ensuring employee safety. Asset Security and Management. Creating and Managing business continuity plans to limit risks. Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
Minimum Requirements Matric Risk Management qualification would be advantageous PSIRA Strong risk management and investigations skills Must have experience in supervising / overseeing loss prevention services CCTV operating experience Strong compliance and record management Accurate and concise literacy skills. Good telephone manner. General good education Good organisational skills Must have a flexible approach to work. Must be able to work shifts as specified. Must be able to attend court, CCMA, Bargaining Council as required. Must be able to work unsupervised
Duties & Responsibilities To attend CCMA/Bargaining council as a company witness. To uphold confidentiality agreements and the Official Secrets Act in respect of all aspects of CCTV surveillance. To keep the Control Room in a clean and tidy condition. Conduct assessments to define and analyse possible risks Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences Audit processes and procedures Develop risk management controls and systems Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks Create contingency plans to manage crises Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses Prepare reports and present recommendations Help implement solutions and plans Evaluate employees’ risk awareness and train them when necessary Team Management Supervise CRO (Control Room Operators) and ensure that all job functions are correctly carried out, report back on findings. Support and guide direct reports by providing in-depth knowledge and understanding of their areas of responsibility i.e. investigations, control room and the technical environment. Investigations Assist in any investigation on site that may deem to be necessary from time to time i.e. departmental or criminal in nature. Must be able to devise ways to use camera technology to enable management to increase efficiencies and help manage risks more effectively. Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of all areas. Analyse and evaluate control room operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement. Identify, investigate, or resolve any security breaches. Safeguarding of company assets, assessment of acquired intelligence/information and the deployment and development of subordinates. CCTV Cameras All CCTV Operators are reminded that every aspect of the system, procedures and recordings and proceedings are confidential and should not be discussed outside the Control Room or to visitors unless they are specifically authorised to be a party to the information. Any other duties as the Warehouse Manager may require in accordance with the grading of the post. To undertake operation of all equipment and cameras within the CCTV department when and as required. To comply with the CCTV Codes of Practice, Data Protection Act, Human Rights Act and other relevant guidance at all times. To effectively and sequentially monitor and control all cameras and to take action as appropriate to events seen. To maintain thorough records including Incident logs, the Repair and Maintenance Log Book and any other designated records within CCTV. To be available for shifts as required including nights and weekend work Where necessary complete witness statement and prepare evidence as per procedures.
